Hi
I am building obs studio using cmake and Xcode.
I used
cmake --preset macos -DOBS_CODESIGN_IDENTITY="" to generate the build folder
and inside X code used Provisioning Profile with Developer ID Application certification.
The build was generated successfully but when I tried to turn on the virtual camera I see missing Missing entitlement com.apple.developer.system-extension.install error.
(My Provisioning profile has System Extension Capability checked on apple developer portal)
If I use this flow instead:
cmake --preset macos -DOBS_CODESIGN_TEAM=63B5A5WDNG
Build using Xcode with Automatic manage signing with Apple Developer Certificate.
Obs studio builds successfully and Virtual camera extension also works fine.
My primary goal is to notarise my app which contains OBS studio and Blackhole Audio driver for distribution outside app store.
If I try to sign my obs app generated in second step
codesign --deep --force --timestamp --verify --verbose \
--options runtime
--sign "Developer ID Application:***"
"OBS.app"
The obs app fails to launch due to some errors.
Can anyone please guide me which step I might be doing wrong,
Much Appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there!
I have an issue with uploading a PKG installer to the MacOS AppStore.
Uploading with:
xcrun altool --upload-app -t macos -f $PKGPATH -u $DEVELOPER_ID -p $APP_SPECIFIC_PWD
results in error:
*** Error: Validation failed Invalid Provisioning Profile. The provisioning profile included in the bundle com.frogblue.frogCom [com.frogblue.frogCom.pkg/Payload/frogSIP.app] is invalid. Application seems to be correctly code signed with „3rd Party Mac Developer Application“ certificate.

I check also the entitlement in the app package, which looks ok for me.

I submitted a mac app for Notarization.
For the first few tries the Notarization failed with an error "Team is not yet configured for Notarization" but few days after my account started to show "ENROLL" option again even though my membership was set to expire on 2026.
I am doubting my account has been suspended.
I have not received any emails from apple regarding the suspension.
I have contacted support but no help yet !
This was the second year, i was paying for the membership.
Could you please help me to -
Help me get the account unsuspended (if it is, as there is no notification or information regarding this)
If the account is suspended due to my app being submitted for Notarization then help me identify the reason so that i can fix them.
Mac App is Time Tracking application that runs in background and capture periodic screenshot backlsh.com (NOTE - I am doing this after taking user consent)
The driver does not show up in the app settings after switching to “DriverKit USB Transport - VendorID”.
Previously, the app used “DriverKit USB Transport (development)” and everything worked as expected.
The entitlements looked like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">

<true/>
<key>com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.usb</key>
<array>
<dict>
<key>idVendor</key>
<string>*</string>
</dict>
</array>
</dict>
</plist>
I received approval to use “DriverKit USB Transport - VendorID”.
I updated the App ID configuration in the portal, removed all development entitlements, updated the provisioning profile, and edited the driver’s .entitlements as follows:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">

<array>
<dict>
<key>idVendor</key>
<integer>1111</integer>
</dict>
</array>
</dict>
</plist>
The app installs on an iPad with an M processor, but the driver does not appear in the settings.
In the logs I see the following:

Yesterday there were reported outages on the Developer ID Notary Service, but it was reported pretty late and we were able to notice the outages in real time. It says resolved now, however an error still persists:
Error: HTTP status code: 403. A required agreement is missing or has expired. This request requires an in-effect agreement that has not been signed or has expired. Ensure your team has signed the necessary legal agreements and that they are not expired.
Is there an ongoing outage at this moment that is not being reported again?
Our pipelines have been working flawlessly for months without intervention nor changes until the most recent outages
Hello Apple Developer Community,
I'm experiencing a persistent issue with App Groups configuration for an iOS app extension that I can't resolve despite trying multiple approaches. I hope someone can help identify what I'm missing.
Problem Description
I'm getting this error when trying to build my iOS App Extension:
Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: com.idlrapp.Spleeft.SpleeftDataSaver" doesn't include the com.apple.developer.app-groups entitlement.
My Setup
Main App Bundle ID: com.idlrapp.Spleeft
Extension Bundle ID: com.idlrapp.Spleeft.SpleeftDataSaver
App Group ID: group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared
Extension Type: Action Extension (Share Sheet)
What I've Verified
App Group Creation
✅ Created App Group group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared in Apple Developer Portal
✅ App Group shows as "Active" in the portal
App ID Configuration
✅ Both App IDs (com.idlrapp.Spleeft and com.idlrapp.Spleeft.SpleeftDataSaver) have "App Groups" capability enabled
✅ Both App IDs are configured with the same App Group: group.com.idlrapp.spleeft.shared
Entitlements Files
Main App (Spleeft.entitlements):
Extension (SpleeftDataSaver.entitlements):
Xcode Configuration
✅ Both targets use "Automatically manage signing" ✅ Same Apple Developer Team selected for both ✅ App Groups capability shows correctly in Signing & Capabilities for both targets
The Issue
When I examine the downloaded .mobileprovision file, I can see it contains:
However, Xcode expects to find:
What I've Tried
Multiple regenerations of provisioning profiles:
Deleted all local provisioning profiles
Toggled "Automatically manage signing" off/on
Downloaded manual profiles from Developer Portal
Verified App Group configuration:
Double-checked App Group exists and is active
Confirmed both App IDs have App Groups capability enabled
Verified App Group assignment in both App IDs
Entitlements cleanup:
Ensured consistent App Group IDs across all files
Removed duplicate/conflicting entries
Clean builds and cache clearing:
Product → Clean Build Folder
Derived Data deletion
Xcode restart
Key Observation
The provisioning profile contains com.apple.security.application-groups (which appears to be macOS-style) but Xcode expects com.apple.developer.app-groups (iOS-style) for the App Extension.
The main app builds fine, but the extension consistently fails with this entitlement mismatch.
Questions
Is there a known issue with App Groups entitlement generation for iOS App Extensions?
Should the provisioning profile contain com.apple.developer.app-groups instead of com.apple.security.application-groups?
Is there a way to force regeneration of provisioning profiles with the correct entitlements?
Are there additional steps required for App Extensions that differ from main apps?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. This is blocking our App Extension development and we've exhausted our troubleshooting options.
Environment:
Xcode: [Tu versión de Xcode]
iOS Deployment Target: [Tu target]
Developer Account: [Paid/Individual/Team]
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Hello everyone,
I'm currently experiencing repeated "Invalid Binary" rejections when submitting my Flutter-based iOS app ("Master Tere") through App Store Connect. I've followed all the expected steps and guidelines, but the rejection contains no additional explanation beyond the "Invalid Binary" status.
Here’s my current setup:
Built using Flutter and Xcode 15.3
WebView-based app loading a professional portfolio site
Runner target is signed automatically using Xcode Managed Profiles
Certificates: Apple Development and Apple Distribution (auto-managed)
Bundle ID: com.actuain.mastertere1
Version: 1.0.0, Build: 6
Deployment target: iOS 18.0
Device family: iPhone only
All signing identities and provisioning profiles match for Debug and Release
In my Info.plist, I’ve cleaned up legacy keys that might cause conflicts:
✅ Removed <key>UIMainStoryboardFile</key> (no storyboard is used)
✅ Removed <key>CFBundleSignature</key> as it was set to ????
✅ Display name and Bundle ID align with Xcode project settings
Despite all this, every time I upload through Xcode Organizer, I get an "Invalid Binary" error after processing. No issues are shown during archive validation.
I suspect the issue may be related to:
Flutter WebView integration with latest iOS SDKs
Residual metadata in the archive from unused iOS storyboard references
Possibly missing entitlements or capabilities not flagged by Xcode
Questions:
Are there any known issues affecting Flutter WebView apps recently (especially around Xcode 15.3 or iOS 18 SDK)?
Is it mandatory to remove Main.storyboard from the project bundle even if it's not used?
Could this issue be related to background modes, UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities, or entitlements even if not directly flagged?
I’d appreciate any insights or experiences from others who’ve faced this issue recently. Thanks in advance!

This is a Math+CS Educational app written in Java. I have been able to distribute the Intel-Mac version downloaded as a .dmg (code-signed, notarized and stapled).
I also need to support Apple silicon hw. I re-created the entire sw manufacturing structure on my M2 Macbook. I'm using the exact same command scripts that work on the older hardware. I am expecting the jpackage script to run the same way on the M2....but no.
The first sign of trouble is I'm not getting an authentication password dialog , which I believe is thrown up by the MacOS when codesign asks to access my Keychain certificates. My keychain is setup the default way.
Here is the error msg:
[07:38:08.719] Running /usr/bin/codesign
[07:38:08.749] java.io.IOException: Command [/usr/bin/codesign, -s, Developer ID Application: Pierre Bierre (SL7L4YU8GT), -vvvv, --timestamp, --options, runtime, --prefix, ST_DFG2D_ARM, /var/folders/v7/06pp2_5d6gz9593k96n2z0v40000gn/T/jdk.jpackage11705714069544945060/images/image-2753484488940359178/DataflowGeom2D.app/Contents/runtime/Contents/Home/lib/libnet.dylib] exited with 1 code

at jdk.jpackage/jdk.jpackage.internal.IOUtils.exec(IOUtils.java:215)
If I build the .dmg installer WITHOUT code-signing it, it produces a good .dmg, but I can't distribute it to my students with M2-M3-M4 rigs.
The error feedback from "codesign" is nonspecific and inactionable. As a developer, I need specific, actionable error messages. I expect that from the wealthiest computer company in the world. Need the info.

我的.entitlements 文件如下:
排查命令:

This is a continuation of my own old post that became inactive to regain traction. I am trying to resolve issues that arise when distributing a macOS app with a SysExt Network Extension (Packet Tunnel) outside the App Store using a Developer ID Certificate.
To directly distribute the app, I start with exporting the .app via Archive in Xcode.
After that, I create a new Developer ID provisioning profile for both the app and sysext and replace the embedded ones in the .app package.
After I have replaced the provisioning profiles and the have the entitlements files ready, I start signing the frameworks, sysext and parent app.
codesign --force --options runtime --timestamp --sign "Developer ID Application: <name>"<app>.app/Contents/Library/SystemExtensions/<sysext>.systemextension/Contents/Frameworks/<fw>.framework/Versions/A/<fw>
codesign --force --options runtime --timestamp --sign "Developer ID Application: <name>" <app>.app/Contents/Frameworks/<fw>.framework/
codesign --force --options runtime --entitlements dist-vpn.entitlements --timestamp --sign "Developer ID Application: <name>" <app>.app/Contents/Library/SystemExtensions/<sysext>.systemextension/Contents/MacOS/<sysext>
codesign --force --options runtime --entitlements dist.entitlements --timestamp --sign "Developer ID Application: <name>" <app>.app
After validation is successful with
codesign --verify --deep --strict --verbose=4 <app>.app
I zip the package, notarize and staple it
ditto -c -k --keepParent "<app>.app" "<app>..zip"
xcrun notarytool submit <app>.zip --keychain-profile “”<credents> --wait
xcrun stapler staple <app>.app
After that I finish creating signed and notarized .dmg/.pkg.
hdiutil create -volname “<app>” -srcfolder “<app>.app/" -ov -format UDZO ./<app>.dmg
codesign --force --sign "Developer ID Application: <name>" <app>.dmg
xcrun notarytool submit <app>.dmg --keychain-profile "<credentials>" --wait
xcrun stapler staple <app>.dmg
Then when I move the .dmg to a clean system, open the .dmg, move the .app to the Applications folder, the attempt to run it fails with “The application “” can’t be opened.”. When I look into the console, the gatekeeper disallows the launch job with the message:

I went through all possible formats (macOS-Style and iOS-Style App Group IDs) and combinations of appgroups according to the post “App Groups: macOS vs iOS: Working Towards Harmony”. But none of those work for me. The weird part is that when I try the same steps on different developer account, I am able to get the app running. What can be wrong?

In order to continue reviewing your app, we require additional information.
Your app uses one or more entitlements which do not appear to have matching functionality within the app. Please reply to this message in App Store Connect and describe how and where the app uses the following entitlements. You will not need to upload a new binary to provide this information.
Apps should have only the minimum set of entitlements necessary for the app to function properly. If there are entitlements that are not needed, please remove them and submit an updated binary. You will need to Developer Reject the app to upload an updated version.

Has anyone hit this mismatch on 11.x? Could Big Sur be expecting something older or idk?
Any pointers appreciated!

Hi,
I am facing an issue with login persistence using firebase, but basically, it seems that I need to ensure I enable the Keychain Sharing within the Identities capabilities, the problem is, it is not even on the list.
Thank you much
I have a valid Developer ID Certificate, I've used it to sign an app locally and send the app to other machines of my colleagues to make sure it works and does not get triggered by GateKeeper
Now I want to automate the process of signing and notarization on github actions and so I want to export my certificate and upload it there.
Initially I tried uploading both the Developer ID Certificate and the G2 CA both as .cer files encoded in base64. But apparently I need my certificate to be in .p12 format
When I try to export it from keychain access the option to export as .p12 is disabled. So how can I do it ?

I am experiencing an issue when publishing my .NET MAUI application for iOS using Visual Studio Code. During the publishing process, I encountered a codesign error. Hope someone can help me. This is the error:

I've added my Vendor ID to the appropriate entitlement files but my binary fails validation when trying to upload it to the store for distribution. The embeded.mobileprovision file in the generated archive shows an asterisk instead of my approved Vendor ID. How can I make sure the embedded provisioning file has my Vendor ID?

Hello,
I already have got approval from Apple for com.apple.developer.family-controls entitlement
When I am building my app, there is one part where I need to check the list of applications which I have blocked with my app.
To get the list I have to have com.apple.developer.managed-settings entitlement ...
Now how and where show I get hold of it ?
I already got permission for Family Control, how do I get hold of this now ?
This is .entitlements file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>com.apple.developer.endpoint-security.client</key>
<true/>
</dict>
</plist>
Code signing:
codesign --sign -vvv --timestamp --options=runtime --force --entitlements ./UES.entitlements -s "Developer ID Application: XXXX Ltd. (XXXXXX)" ./UES.app
When I run it on macOS 13.x, it works fine. If I run the system on macOS 11.x, it reports a "killed" error
(if codesign remove --entitlements ./UES.entitlements, Then the startup will not report an error, but the endpoint security rights cannot be used)
