Hi, I'm here to Report a Problem with the IOS 18.3 UPDATE. So, when i Download a file, any file. The Download Progress has no problems, but when the download complete, Nothing happens it just keeps the blue line of the download, and then I can’t open that file…this only happened to me when i downloaded the IOS 18.3… hope it'll be fixed ASAP. With most recent Safari update, our page started having some of it's core functionality broken while users access it on Private mode due to Fingerprinting protection. The issue is that the code that breaks is our first-party code and I want understand why it is breaking and how to properly fix it. One thing we discovered was that a service of ours that uses the same code base doesn't have these issues and current assumption is that their page bundles are served on the same domain as the actual page request, while ours is coming from a different one. The other assumption was that the domain which we use for serving the bundles of the page are set on the domain that is flagged as tracking domain. Is there some documentation on how Safari decides which code is allowed reading user inputs and which isn't and what is the appropriate approach to fix this issue as it would be possible that these changes get release as default in the future?

iOS 18.4 introduces the new WKWebExtension API to support extensions in WKWebView. However, for extensions that have migrated to Manifest V3 and use an extension service worker as the background script, it's currently not possible to inspect them through Safari. This is only thing I can see, I don't know how to inspect the details of the "background.js" I'm wondering—has this changed? Is it now possible to inspect extension service workers?

After reading several posts I see that I need to add the "com.apple.developer.web-browser.public-key-credential" capability to my macOS app in order to get it to work. So my noob question is where do I request this capability? Can I as a developer request it or does the Account owner need to request it? Once approved, how do I add it to my app's capabilities? If we use webView.loadFileURL(indexURL, allowingReadAccessTo: readAccessURL) on an iPad it loads the data and navigation works. But if we place two hands on top of the screen and move a bit, all click events are not working anymore. It works again if we call loadFileURL again. We filled a bug report: FB19812304

I have a local HTML file used to display mixed content with images and text. Here's the issue: the same file displays everything correctly in Google Chrome, showing both images and text as expected. However, when opened in Safari, only the text is shown—images are missing, which is very strange. Interestingly, if I remove .png from the title attribute of the tag, the images show up properly in Safari. Alternatively, if I comment out the inclusion of html2canvas.min.js, the images also display correctly (although the layout breaks without it). I'm not sure if this is a Safari-specific issue. Can anyone explain what might be causing this problem?

Enabling Private Relay seems to block XHR in Safari from reaching a local HTTPS server hosted by an iOS app, though it works in other browsers. While testing them, we found that mobile layout of the reports don't work as we expect on iOS devices (tested in Chrome and Safari). There are two principals issues: 1) the site is automatically refreshed when the users filter the data (we reduced them to lower expression) and 2) the site also crashes after a while using the dashboard by applying different filters.

Hi! I'm trying to implement ASWebAuthenticationSession to log in to my app via the web app backend. However, I'm a bit confused about the cookies that this has access to. When I set prefersEphemeralWebBrowserSession=false it does not seem to use the cookies from Safari. Or at least, I'm logged into my web app in Safari, but when I use ASWebAuthenticationSession I still have to log in again. Does it not share session cookies with Safari? I did notice that if I don't use an ephemeral session, once I log out and try to log back in my app does automatically log me in but that's actually unhelpful in my opinion because now I have no way to clear that session because it only lives in the ASWebAuthenticationSession context. If that's the case I may as well use the ephemeral session then because it seems to have only drawbacks.

Is there any supported mechanism in Safari Web Extensions (MV3) for capturing or logging network request data (like fetch, XHR, or webRequest) triggered by the web page?

I have a web extension that I want to send data to, and receive a response containing modified data. My understanding is that the native app is only contactable by a background script. How does a webpage contact the background script? One answer is by adding a content script, which is able to communicate with the background script using browser.native.sendMessage(). Unfortunately this triggers a warning that "this extension can read and alter web pages". I do not want to read and alter web pages, nor do I want users to be concerned about a permission the app doesn't need. I just want to receive data, and then return a response. What API should I be using to achieve this?

Hey everyone, After installing iOS 26 beta, I started noticing unexpected behavior in our input event handlers. Specifically, when users type into an field, event.target.value is always an empty string — but only when the JS file is loaded from a specific domain (e.g., t1.daumcdn.net). The exact same code works perfectly when hosted on other domains like t2.daumcdn.net or search1.daumcdn.net. 👉 I created a demo here: 🔗 https://codepen.io/bzasklcu-the-sans/pen/rNXogxL The scripts loaded from each domain are 100% identical (apart from the top-level selector). Before iOS 26 beta, this worked fine. Please! is there an app or anything I can do ive posted multiple times. Ive researched all that I can even with screen time on and web limits it still lets u swipe to delete history! Yes it’s grayed out but u can still swipe and delete it!!
