Refactor->Rename "Refactoring Engine Failure"
For Xcode 15 and Xcode 16, whenever I try to use the Refactor->Rename command I get a spinning busy cursor for a short while then I get an alert that says: Rename Failed Refactoring engine failure. This happens on several projects and I've tried removing the derived data folder, but am at a loss to find additional troubleshooting steps. Are there other files I might remove or reset to get my "Refactoring Engine" back into shape?

Hi there, When using devicectl to manage files: It's unclear for which domains the username should be provided It's unclear how to determine the username Listing files USAGE: devicectl device info files [<options>] --device <uuid|ecid|serial_number|udid|name|dns_name> --domain-type <domain-type> FILE OPTIONS: --username <username> The username of the user we should target. Only relevant for certain domains. --domain-type <domain-type> The file service domain. Valid values are: temporary, appDataContainer, appGroupDataContainer, systemCrashLogs. You must specify a valid domain and identifier pair. Certain domains must be accompanied by an identifier that provides additional context. For example, if the domain is an app data container, the identifier is the bundle ID of the app. For temporary directories, the identifier is a unique client-provided string which is used to get your own space, separate from those of other clients. --domain-identifier <domain-identifier> A unique string used to provide additional context to the domain. --username The username of the user we should target. Only relevant for certain domains. In the domains, the username requirements are not mentioned. Xcode JSONDecoder playground fails with 'The LLDB RPC server has crashed.
If I create a playground project that uses a JSONDecoder I get the following error. The LLDB RPC Server has crashed. The crash log is located at ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports and has a prefix 'lldb-rpc-server'. Please file a bug and attach the most recent crash log. I have raised feedback for this, FB17702087, but I hope that there may be a workaround. Notification Content Extension on Simulator
Hello All, I see an issue while running the Notification content Extension on simulator without checking the "Copy only when installing in app target -> Build Phases -> Embed App Extensions" If I check "Copy only when installing in app target" then only it is working. Can someone please confirm if Notification Content Extension is working on simulator. If yes how can we do that. Please share the details

App crashing on real iPhone only (working fine on simulator and Xcode preview)
Hi, I'm currently facing an issue where my React Native app crashes only on a real iPhone. On the simulator and in Xcode preview, the app runs fine. Previously, I had an issue with FlatList regarding props.getItem, which I solved by installing some missing Babel dependencies. After that, everything worked correctly in the simulator. But when I try to open the app on a real device, it shows the splash screen and crashes immediately. I've already done a full clean and reset, including: npx react-native start --reset-cache Deleted node_modules and Pods, reinstalled everything Cleaned build folder via Xcode Deleted DerivedData Restarted Metro bundler and simulator/device The issue only happens on the physical device. How to retrieve required Apple Pay parameters for PayFort payment request in Swift?
I'm integrating Apple Pay with PayFort in a Swift iOS application, and I’m currently working on preparing a valid purchase request using Apple Pay, as described in PayFort’s documentation: 🔗 https://docsbeta.payfort.com/docs/api/build/index.html?shell#apple-pay-authorization-purchase-request The documentation outlines the following required parameters: apple_data apple_signature apple_header apple_transactionId apple_ephemeralPublicKey apple_publicKeyHash apple_paymentMethod apple_displayName apple_network apple_type Optional: apple_applicationData I understand these should be derived from the PKPayment object after Apple Pay authorization, but I’m having trouble mapping everything correctly. Here’s what I’m seeing in code: payment.token // Returns something like: <PKPaymentToken: 0x28080ae80; transactionIdentifier: "..."; paymentData: 3780 bytes> payment.token.paymentData // Contains 3780 bytes of encrypted data payment.token.paymentData.base64EncodedString() // Returns a long base64 string, which at first glance seems like it could be used for apple_data, // but PayFort doesn't accept it as-is — so this value appears to be incomplete or incorrectly formatted I can successfully retrieve the following values from payment.token.paymentMethod: apple_displayName apple_network apple_type However, I’m still unsure how to extract or build the following in the format accepted by PayFort: apple_data apple_signature apple_header apple_transactionId apple_ephemeralPublicKey apple_publicKeyHash apple_paymentMethod These may be contained within the paymentData JSON, but I’m not sure how to decode it or if Apple allows decrypting it in a way that matches PayFort’s expected format. How can I correctly extract or build apple_data, apple_signature, and apple_header from the Apple Pay token? Also, how should I handle the decryption or decoding (if necessary) of paymentData to retrieve values like apple_transactionId, apple_ephemeralPublicKey, and apple_publicKeyHash? Module not found when using inheritance
PLATFORM AND VERSION Development environment: Xcode 16.4 (16F6), macOS 15.5 (24F74) Run-time configuration: iOS 18.3.1 DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM I cannot build my app due to a module not found error when I'm importing Sample-Swift.h header to an ObjectiveC file. I need to use Swift code to ObjectiveC file with Swift code using an external XCFramework. It seems to be related to a mix with ObjectiveC and Swift code when Swift code uses class inheritance from FZWorkoutKit class. With a full Swift project, no issue. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Project https://fizzup.s3.amazonaws.com/files/public/Sample-WK.zip Open the provided project and try to build it. The issue occurs. In MyObject.m file, if you comment the first import (Sample-Swift.h), no issue occurs but I cannot use my Swift code (MyFile class). Uncomment the line commented in step 1. Go to MyFile.swift and change class inheritance from GoModeController (from FZWorkoutKit framework) to UIView (from UIKit). No issue occurs.

Latest Xcode build giving multiple system level errors
with the latest Xcode version, i am getting all kinds of errors: few main ones: /Users/akashbhatia/MyApp/ios/Pods/Target Support Files/ReactCodegen/ReactCodegen-prefix.pch:2:9 Could not build module 'UIKit' /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator18.4.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/CFNetwork.framework/Headers/CFNetwork.h:18:10 Could not build module 'CoreFoundation' /Users/akashbhatia/MyApp/ios/Pods/Headers/Public/RCT-Folly/folly/portability/Config.h:20:10 'folly/folly-config.h' file not found I have reinstalled Xcode, removed derived data, installed pod over and over again, but I have realized from the first error here, that it has more to do with Xcode and React Native now. Any help will be appreciated.

Issue using RealmSwift in a framework versus using it in an app
If I install RealmSwift into an ios app using SPM, I have no problems. However if I install it into an ios framework, then when building there is this error: error: missing required modules: 'Realm.Private', 'Realm', 'Realm.Swift' I have discovered that if I change the import statement from: import RealmSwift to private import RealmSwift then doing that makes this build error goes away (but doing that isn't a feasible workaround as I would like to publicly export classes stored in Realm from the framework). There's no point in posting issues with Realm on their support board as its being deprecated and its tumble weeds on their forum. But I would be very interested in hearing from the Apple expects explanation or speculation on: why is importing the same framework via SPM into a framework xcode project resulting in different behavior then when importing it into an app? why would changing import to private import make the build error go away? TIA

unsupported option '-G' for target 'arm64-apple-ios12.0'
I had an Intel macbook and I used that to build and release my app to app store but I didn't release for 2 years. Recently a bug was reported that I needed to update the a code and make a new release with my apple silicon macbook. But I get this issue when I go to Product -> Archive. Mac (Designed for iPad) not been able to install on Mac testflight
Hi I developed an iPhone app but now I want to release the same app for iPad and Mac (Design for iPad). I made the changes below but I still not been able to install the app on my Mac. It says the app is incompatible but my Mac is MacBook Pro M2 which fills the requirements to install it. Things I did so my iPhone app could have support for iPad and Mac Added iPad and Mac (Designed for iPad) for the supported destinations Change the Status Bar Style to Require full screen Changed iOS minimum Deployments iOS to 17.6 Updated the launch screen logo so stays in the middle Xcode version 16.2 See the sccreenshots of the Xcode configuration and of the TestFlight on my MacBook Pro M2 Is there anything else I need to do? NO_CRASH_STACK with different number of crashes from the App Store.
Hello. For the last few months I have been facing a situation for which I do not understand either the reason or the solution. Here is an example for the last few weeks: In App Store Connect it shows 214 crashes for the last week In Xcode it shows 56 crashes for the last 2 weeks without stack traces (NO_CRASH_STACK) In Firebase Crashlytics there is not a single crash. When I click "Show in Finder" it opens a folder with .xccrashpoint files. As far as I understood from the instructions on posting crash reports - this is not what is needed. Interesting point: it looks like the errors occur on iOS 15-16 devices. I have several questions: Why is the number of crashes in Xcode different from the number in App Store Connect? Where are the other crashes? How can I understand what the problem is if there are no stack traces in Xcode?

I'm encountering an issue while trying to build my iOS app in Xcode for the simulator. Issue: Xcode Version: 15.x macOS Version: 14.x (Sonoma) Simulator: iPhone 16 Pro Error Message: Command ClangStatCache failed with a nonzero exit code Steps Taken: Cleaned build folder (Shift + Cmd + K) Deleted DerivedData (rm -rf ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData) Updated Xcode and checked iOS SDK updates Disabled Clang Static Analyzer Cache None of these steps resolved the issue.
