I was developing an app using a certain bundle ID, but then had to delete it (and I also removed the app ID Identifier)
My question is, can I make a new app with the exact same bundle ID as I was using on the removed one? Since the old app never went into production I don't see why that would be a problem

Hello,
"This issue is blocking App store approval"
I have tried pushing my application to Appstore. However it has been rejected on the following ground:
_"As we discussed, the app uses or references the following non-public or deprecated APIs:
Frameworks/CommonLibrary.framework/CommonLibrary
Symbols:
• _SecCertificateIsValid
The use of non-public or deprecated APIs is not permitted, as they can lead to a poor user experience should these APIs change and are otherwise not supported on Apple platforms."_
I have scanned the app using "strings" tool & "otool -ov" tool.
But they have come out clean. No Non-public or deprecated APIs detected.
Please advise which tool can be used to scan the CL to locate where the deprecated API or non-public API lies and also how to rectify the same.
Thanks
Saikat Bakshi.
I am using macOS’s /bin/date command, both in Terminal and via AppleScript (do shell script). I noticed inconsistent behaviour with the %N format specifier for nanoseconds:
• On some Macs, date +%s%N returns numeric nanoseconds as expected.
• On other Macs, the same command returns a literal N or fails when coerced to a number.
• This occurs across different macOS versions and on both Intel and Apple Silicon machines.
My understanding is that macOS ships BSD date, which does not officially document %N. I am trying to determine:
1. Is %N in /bin/date officially supported on macOS, and if so, on which versions?
2. If %N is not supported, what is Apple’s recommended, portable method for obtaining sub-second or millisecond timestamps in shell scripts or AppleScript across all macOS versions?
Hi all,
I’m developing a watchOS app and have seen cases where the app is terminated by the system — for example, due to CPU usage limits being exceeded (watchdog termination). Here’s a portion of one of the crash reports:
Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGKILL)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000
Termination Reason: CAROUSEL 2343432205
<RBSTerminateContext| domain:10 code:0x8BADF00D explanation:[app<app_name>:898] Failed to terminate gracefully after 5.0s
ProcessVisibility: Foreground
ProcessState: Running
WatchdogEvent: process-exit
WatchdogVisibility: Foreground
WatchdogCPUStatistics: (
"Elapsed total CPU time (seconds): 11.280 (user 9.800, system 1.480), 100% CPU",
"Elapsed application CPU time (seconds): 5.162, 46% CPU"
) reportType:CrashLog maxTerminationResistance:Interactive>
My questions:
1.) Is there any way to get notified (via Crashlytics, Xcode Organizer, or any other reporting mechanism) when this type of system-level termination happens — similar to how we’re notified of crashes?
2.)Is there any way for a watchOS app to receive runtime warnings from the system when it’s about to exceed CPU or memory limits — similar to UIApplication.didReceiveMemoryWarningNotification on iOS?
Thanks in advance!

Good morning everyone,
I am developing a Flutter app for Android and iOS.
When I press a button, the app detects the location of the device (obviously with permissions already granted).
On Android everything works correctly.
On iOS, however, when I press the button for the first time after opening the app, the location is detected after about 30-50 seconds.
On the other hand, if I repeat the operation later, the response time is drastically reduced (only a few seconds).
I am using the location package (https://pub.dev/packages/location), and the code to get the location is as follows:
var currentLocation = await location.getLocation();
Has anyone experienced this problem before or knows how to solve it?
Thank you very much!
Federico
I'm using Xcode 16.3 and I want to add the key "NSUbiquitousContainers" but I cannot do it in the Entitlements file, it should be in info.plist file! I have done it before but in previous versions of Xcode when the info.plist was in the project navigator.
However, now I cannot find the file and I did not find any way to create it!
Please guide me in detail how to proceed (I'm not new to Swift or SwiftUI but not familiar to project settings)?
Visual Studio 2022 is attempting to use port 11000 instead of 62078, but the port on iOS 18.5 is not listening for VS's Hot Reloading. Is this allowable? If so, how?
I'm currently developing a Unity game for iPad and have run into a critical issue that's completely blocking me from building the project. The project uses the Mapbox SDK for Unity.
Everything was working fine during today test build on the iPad. I made minor changes - just four scripts, then attempted another build. However, Xcode began showing the following error:
The signature of “MapboxCommon.xcframework” cannot be validated and may have been compromised. Validation Error: The signing certificate has been revoked (CSSMERR_TP_CERT_REVOKED)
This error now occurs consistently. I've tried building on a different MacBook and with a different Apple account, but the result is the same. I haven't made any changes to the Mapbox framework, nor have I updated it recently.
I'm trying to determine the root cause:
Is this something I've done on my end? Or is it an issue with the Mapbox framework or their signing certificate?
Is there a temporary workaround that would allow me to proceed with development builds while I investigate a proper fix?
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
My application always crashes at the same position when I open it on my iPad Air. It doesn't crash in debug mode which makes it very difficult for me to find the issue.

I'm trying to rewrite an old AppleScript mail rule that I used extensively as a Mail extension using the MailKit framework and I've run into an issue.
Previously, when developing the script, it was possible to debug it by selecting the message I wanted it applied to and choosing the Mail.app menu item "Message/Apply Rules"
This would re-execute my script and I could iterate over it as many times as I liked while developing.
I haven't found any great way of doing this for my extension with a MEMessageActionHandler. The closest I've found is to forward the message to myself and wait for it to come back in again over the internet, at which point the extension would get executed again. Needless to say, this makes debugging my MEMessageAction handler much slower.
I've tried a number of things in Mail.app to try and get it to re-execute my extension with a particular message without any luck. Does anyone know of a good process for debugging a MEMessageActionHandler that doesn't involve forwarding the message to myself over and over and waiting for it to come in each time?

Hello
I developed an app for my cousin (I wrote all the code myself), but she’ll be the one managing it once it’s published. She’ll take care of the content, updates, and anything admin-related.
Right now, the app uses my Firebase account and my Apple Developer account (App Store Connect), which I set up at the start of the project.
I’m wondering:
• Am I at risk legally or financially if the accounts stay under my name, even though I won’t be involved in the app after release?
• Is it possible to migrate the project to her email, meaning transfer Firebase and the Apple Developer account to her own account, so that everything is properly under her control?
Thanks in advance for any insights or experiences

Hello,
I currently have a live application in the iOS App Store that needs an update to start functioning again, but I've lost the source code in a hard drive failure. Is there a way to reverse engineer the currently deployed package that is live (and also a way to download it from App Store Connect)⁉️
The development change itself is just a very small change for an API route in the code itself. I could even direct an engineer at Apple to make the change in 5 minutes!
Let me know if this is possible.
Thanks❗️
I want to create a dynamic library for my iOS project, which would be loaded at runtime.
In Xcode, there are templates available for creating a static/dynamic lib for MacOS. But under the iOS tab, there is only a "static library" template.
So, I used the "static library" template and in its build settings I changed the Mach-O type to "dynamic library".
Now after building it, I use the file command on the generated file and it tells me it is a dynamic lib.
But the generated file still has .a extension, which is usually for static libs.
I'm aware we can tell Xcode in build settings to change the .a extension to something else, say .dylib but this seems like a hacky way to create a dynamic library.
What is the correct way?
I am aware that standalone dylibs are not supported on iOS, and we need to wrap them in a framework.
For my use case, the framework will literally be a wrapper, it won't have any source files of its own. It should only contain the dynamic lib generated from some independent codebase. I am not sure how to place the dylib in the framework.
About three weeks ago I submitted a DTS ticket (13097367) to receive code level support with a potential SwiftUI bug. At first I did not receive any response at all (beside the automatic confirmation that the ticket has been created).
Only after posting the question here, I got a reply from a DTS engineer. However, the proposed solution did not really solve the problem but only circumvents it (UI freezes when ScrollView reaches below SafeArea. Solution: Do not use ScrollView below SafeArea...)
I pointed out, that this does not really help me. Since then I did not receive any further response.
Is this normal? Is there something wrong with my ticket? Maybe it was closed by accident or something?
Thank you very much!
Good day everyone.
I have a react native app which works on dev mode on my device - Iphone 13 pro version: 18.5, but when deployed to TestFlight and installed on same device it crashes when ever I click on any TextInput. I downloaded the crash file but finding it difficult to pinpoint the problem.
I want to know what the problem is, if it's related to an installed package or code base or any other.
Any help will be appreciated!!!
Thanks.

I want to keep an eye on the App Store Connect release notes to find out when builds created with Xcode 26.2 RC will be accepted. I tried to add https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/release-notes/ to my RSS reeder but the items listed are not the same, it’s the items from the latest news from Apple Developer instead. Can we get an RSS feed please? Seems will be useful to monitor these release notes over time.
Hi everyone,
after enabling CloudKit in my project, my app started showing conflicts between MusicKit and CloudKit entitlements — and now Xcode is failing to generate the provisioning profile entirely.
Current issue (Signing / Provisioning Profile Failure)
Xcode shows this error:
“Provisioning profile ‘iOS Team Provisioning Profile: team8.groovefy.dev’ doesn’t include the entitlements:
com.apple.developer.media-library,
com.apple.developer.music-user-token,
com.apple.developer.musickit,
com.apple.developer.playable-content,
com.apple.security.exception.mach-lookup.global-name”
Automatic signing fails, and Xcode cannot create or update the provisioning profile.
This started right after CloudKit was enabled in the project.
Context
Before enabling CloudKit, MusicKit worked normally, including Apple Music authentication and playlist creation.
After activating CloudKit capabilities:
MusicKit stopped generating the Apple Music user token
Playlist creation broke
Now the provisioning profile cannot be rebuilt because the required MusicKit-related entitlements are no longer included
Even after removing CloudKit entirely, the issue persists — as if the App ID or entitlements on the server side became inconsistent or corrupted.
I already tried:
Recreating App Identifier
Recreating provisioning profiles
Resetting capabilities
Cleaning and reinitializing the Xcode project settings
But Xcode still refuses to generate a valid provisioning profile that includes the MusicKit entitlements.
Summary
Enabling CloudKit caused MusicKit entitlements to collide, and now the provisioning profile no longer includes the required MusicKit entitlements — preventing the app from signing, running, or creating playlists.
If anyone has faced this type of entitlements/provisioning corruption or knows how to reset the App ID entitlements on Apple’s side, any help would be greatly appreciated.
This morning I installed podman on my new Apple laptop. It can be inited successfully but failed to start.
The error is: Error: Error Domain=VZErrorDomain Code=1 Description="Internal Virtualization error. The virtual machine failed to start." UserInfo={
NSLocalizedFailure = "Internal Virtualization error.";
NSLocalizedFailureReason = "The virtual machine failed to start.";
My new Mac laptop with the latest OS version: 15.3.1 and it is Apple M4 chip.
I verified that my Virtualization.framework is good by ls -l /System/Library/Frameworks/Virtualization.framework also my MacOS support virtualization because sysctl kern.hv_support returns kern.hv_support: 1.
I tried to install it on my old Apple laptop which is intel core, same OS version - everything is good.
How to fix this issue?
If I build an x64 binary on my M4 Mini, when I try to debug it using Visual Studio remote debugging the connection is closed, which means I cannot debug my code in x64 mode. I need to be able to do this as I have architecture specific code.
I have Rosetta installed.
FWIW I have the same issue with lldb-mi :(
