Inconsistent behavior with transactionId and appAccountToken in iOS Sandbox purchases (StoreKit1 & StoreKit2)
Hi, I'm reaching out to report a recurring issue with in-app purchases on iOS that seems to be related to Apple’s transaction handling — not to third-party libraries. In my Flutter application, I use both StoreKit2 and StoreKit1 (for comparison) via different packages, including the official in_app_purchase package. However, in both cases, I’m experiencing unexpected reuse of transactionId and appTransactionId values, even when initiating fresh purchases with unique appAccountToken values. Problem Summary: Purchase Stream Returns Old Purchases When calling buyNonConsumable() with a new product, the purchase stream still returns data for a previously purchased product, despite clearing all Sandbox transactions and using a new applicationUserName for each attempt. Transaction IDs Reused Across Distinct Purchases Even when generating a new UUID for appAccountToken on each purchase, the returned appTransactionId and transactionId are reused — this breaks our server-side logic, which expects these fields to uniquely identify purchases and users. Example Logs: // First purchase { "appAccountToken": "2d5a0880-f68e-44a7-a414-f51204e63904", "appTransactionId": "704464472748013865", "transactionId": "2000000928154716" } // Second purchase (different user context) { "appAccountToken": "2d5a0880-f68e-44a7-a414-f51204e63904", "appTransactionId": "704464472748013865", "transactionId": "2000000928429780" } Even when using a different productId, the appTransactionId stays the same. When using StoreKit1, the productId updates properly, but the transactionId still matches the previous one. This behavior also affects App Store Server Notifications (V2): we have observed notifications tied to appAccountTokens from completely different user accounts (based on internal logs), sometimes delayed by days or weeks. I’ve prepared a reproducible example using the official Flutter in_app_purchase sample with minimal changes — you can find it here: Github gist The code is almost identical to the package example. I only added UUID generation for applicationUserName in _getToken(). In the actual app (not in this example), I retrieve the token from an API. Additional Observations from the Community: We’ve also found similar issues reported in other frameworks and languages. For instance, a developer using react-native-iap observed that App Store Server Notifications in TestFlight were tied to previously deleted users, even after signing up with a new user account and generating a new appAccountToken. Details here: User A deleted → User B signs up → receives upgrade event with User A’s token Notification uses appAccountToken from old account, not the new one This strengthens the suspicion that the issue may be related to how Apple associates transactions with Apple IDs in test environments. Questions: Is it expected for transactionId or appTransactionId to persist across purchases within the same Apple ID, even for different user contexts (e.g., separate logins in the same app)? Is there any official recommendation for avoiding this kind of data reuse in Sandbox or TestFlight environments? Should I expect appAccountToken in server notifications to always match the latest value provided during the purchase? Thank you in advance for your assistance. I would appreciate any clarification or advice regarding this issue, as it impacts production logic that relies on these identifiers being unique and consistent.

transaction.subscriptionStatus (TestFlight) returns nil on iOS 26 (works from Xcode & on iOS 18)
I’m seeing an issue with subscriptions in TestFlight builds on iOS 26. Running from Xcode works as expected, and the App Store build looks fine. But when I install the same build via TestFlight, transaction.subscriptionStatus is nil. The identical binary behaves correctly on an iOS 18 device. Is this expected behavior on iOS 26 TestFlight, or am I missing something? Thanks!

StoreKit 2: Handle unfinished consumables
I have non-consumable and consumable in-app purchases in my app. The tutorial I was following stated Transaction.currentEntitlements includes unfinished consumables, which is incorrect according to the documentation. Is the correct way to handle unfinished consumables (and non-consumables) to implement Transaction.updates and call finish() if it’s verified? The documentation says that listener will receive unfinished transactions once upon app launch, so with that, do I understand correctly you do not need to implement Transaction.unfinished unless you want to look for unfinished transactions manually later on? Otherwise what is the correct and most recommended way to handle unfinished consumables? Is there a way to test that scenario in Xcode?

subscriptions before submitting a review
We distribute apps that offer auto-renewing subscriptions. In order to test a new service, we would like to create a new subscription group and subscription product (hereinafter referred to as “test subscription”) for this app. If the “In-app purchase statuses” of the test subscription is “Ready to Submit” is the following behavior correct? ・General end users cannot purchase the test subscription. ・Users with SANDBOX Apple accounts can purchase the test subscription.

I see purchase price instead of install app button in app store page
I've just released my first on app store. I have monthly renewing subscription on my app, there is no pay wall for few days. When I look at my app store page after release it shows me app price upfront instead of users download the app. I know I have subscription, but I don't want it to be upfront before install I know other store that have the same model and users get to download their app. What am I missing?

Recurring subscriptions return with an "Unknown Error" fail message
Testing recurring subscriptions in a new release in both development environment and in Test Flight, we see an increased percentage of failed calls returning from Apple server. The return failure message is that an unknown error occurred. The behavior is not consistent and most often we get a failure and another attempt succeeds. We do get around 50% failures which is alarming and cannot be explained to the end user. We have also experimented with previous test versions that are in production currently and we see the same behavior, so this is not isolated to the most recent release we plan nor to a specific application we have. Past testing in previous releases did not return such high percentage of failures from Apple server. Have you encountered such an issue? We have no idea what may cause Apple server to return with this "Unknown error" and there is no log we can consume from Apple subscription service. Appreciate your help on this.

Consolidate subscriptions between apps
Because of historical reasons we have the same app with different bundle identifiers in different App Stores, e. g. one in Germany and one in Poland and one in France. Every app offers a monthly and a yearly in app subscription. We want to consolidate our apps and user base and want to have only one app in the end. The question is now: Can Apple make the monthly/daily subscriptions from e. g. the app in the store in Poland available or migrate them to the german app in the german App Store when we make the "german" app available also in Poland? The final goal would be that a user who bought a subscription in the polish store would have the subscription also available on his Apple ID in the german store. Is this possible? Can Apple make this possible?

StoreKit 2 Sandbox Testing - Product not found
Hi, I've been unable to successfully test in the sandbox environment for a StoreKit 2 subscription group and can't seem to find the missing piece. I am calling the following line of code: let products = try await Product.products(for: [subscriptionID]) Expected behavior: The product is returned in the products array. Actual result: The array is empty I have done the following: Successfully tested our logic using a storekit configuration file locally in Xcode. Created the Subscription group in App Store Connect. The subscription product is currently "Waiting for Review", but it is our first so will not be approved without being attached to a distribution build review. Created a Sandbox user account in App Store Connect -> Users -> Sandbox Signed into the sandbox user account in Settings -> Developer -> Sandbox Apple Account Signed the Paid Apps Agreement for our organization A few debugging notes: I deleted all apps before installing from Xcode I've tried both locally and in TestFlight builds Restarted my device Verified productID matches the productID in App Store Connect I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Issue with In-App Subscription Payments – Pending Transactions
Hi, I am experiencing an issue with in-app subscriptions in my React Native application known-singles, using the react-native-iap library. When a user subscribes to a plan, the transaction executes successfully, and a receipt is returned. However, the transaction remains in a pending state indefinitely and does not update. Additionally, the transaction amount is not deposited into my bank account, even though all banking details are correctly set up in App Store Connect. We have thoroughly debugged the issue on our end but could not identify the cause. TestFlight transactions complete successfully, but real purchases remain stuck in pending status. Here are the relevant details of our implementation: React Native version: 0.60.4 react-native-iap version: 4.2.2 Could you please assist in resolving this issue? Any guidance on why transactions are not being completed and why payouts are not being processed would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to your support.

Reuse a product id from app A in app B for In-app purchase in my iOS app
I have an app which is already on App Store with In-app purchase. Now I want to integrate In-app purchase in my another app for the same products as in the existing app. Both the apps are using same Apple Account. Can I reuse those Product Ids from the first app in the second one. If yes, what is the ways to use them. Thank you in advance.

Why does a purchase result in success unverified?
A purchase can result in success with verificationResult .unverified. Is there a list of reasons for which the transaction might be unverified and how should i handle it in my app? From my understanding, a successful unverified transaction means the user has already paid for the purchase. So, do i just ignore the unverified transaction or do i provide content to the user anyways?

Converting Payed App to Freemium
I just converted my App to Freemium, but the method is used to give user, that bought the App before it was free, access to the paid futures seems not to be working. I am getting the original Purchase Date from the AppTransaction (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/apptransaction/originalpurchasedate) and comparing that to a set date where the App Model changed. In Test Flight this is working without any Problems but on the Live System, users that have purchased the App do not get access! let shared = try await AppTransaction.refresh() if case .verified(let appTransaction) = shared { result(appTransaction.originalPurchaseDate.ISO8601Format()). } I am using flutter to develop the App and the result()... send the string back to the flutter side. Here is the code of the Flutter side: Future<void> restorePurchases() async { SubscriptionProvider().updatePayment(PurchaseStatus.pending); await InAppPurchase.instance.restorePurchases(); if (Platform.isIOS) { DateTime changedToFreemium = DateTime.utc(2025, 4, 7, 11, 0, 0); String? purchaseDateRaw = await IosFlutterChannel().getOriginalPurchaseDate(); if (kDebugMode) { print("Purchase Date Raw: $purchaseDateRaw"); } if (purchaseDateRaw != null) { DateTime purchaseDate = DateTime.parse(purchaseDateRaw); if (purchaseDate.isBefore(changedToFreemium)) { if (kDebugMode) { print("Restoring legacy purchases"); } SubscriptionProvider().update(true, SubscriptionStatus.active, SubscriptionType.fs_lifetime); } else { if (kDebugMode) { print("Not restoring legacy purchases"); } } } } SubscriptionProvider().updatePayment(PurchaseStatus.purchased); } Console Log when running in Test Environment: flutter: Purchase Date Raw: 2013-08-01T07:00:00Z flutter: Restoring legacy purchases Thanks!

Promotional offer does not work, gave error code 3903
I tried to apply a promotional offer to a subscribed user. When I tested it in the Sandbox environment, it did not show the promotional payment popup but returned a “restored” status. However, when I tested it in the Xcode environment, it correctly displayed the payment popup, but after I tapped the Subscribe button, it showed an “Unable to Purchase” popup like this: And in the console I could see this error: Received error that does not have a corresponding StoreKit Error: Error Domain=AMSErrorDomain Code=305 "Server Error The server encountered an error" UserInfo={AMSURL=http://localhost:56862/WebObjects/MZBuy.woa/wa/inAppBuy, AMSDescription=Server Error, NSDebugDescription=Server Error The server encountered an error, AMSServerErrorCode=3903, AMSStatusCode=200, AMSServerPayload={ "cancel-purchase-batch" = 1; dialog = { defaultButton = ok; explanation = "Contact the developer for more information.\n\n[Environment: Xcode]"; initialCheckboxValue = 1; "m-allowed" = 0; message = "Unable to Purchase"; okButtonString = OK; }; dsid = 17322632127; failureType = 3903; jingleAction = inAppBuy; jingleDocType = inAppSuccess; pings = ( ); }, AMSFailureReason=The server encountered an error} Could someone help me resolve this issue? I’ve been struggling with it for two days and feeling exhausted...

Unable to sign in to Sandbox Apple Account on Simulator
I am unable to sign in to a Sandbox Apple Account, where this issue occurs only via Simulator. Under Settings > Developer, I tap "Sign In" under Sandbox Apple Account. I enter my account credentials, and after bringing me back to the Developer page, the Sign In button briefly appears as disabled, before being re-enabled, without signing in to the account. (The account credentials are also recognized as correct, as I will receive an alert popup if incorrect.) See screenshots below: After signing in, Sign In button appears disabled... ... then is re-enabled without actually signing in to the account. I have now tried setting up multiple sandbox accounts via App Store Connect with various permutations (no confirmation of Apple Account email, confirming Apple Account email, logging in to iCloud and accepting terms of service), running different device simulators, running simulators on different Mac computers... none of which yield a different result. By contrast, I can sign in to the Sandbox Apple Account without issue on a physical device. The problem occurs only via Simulator.

IAP working in StoreKitTest on XCODE but not in TestFlight – shows mapped error "Product not available"
Hey everyone, I'm currently preparing an older iOS app for App Store release that includes a non-consumable In‑App Purchase using StoreKit 2. Everything works perfectly in the StoreKitTest environment inside Xcode – the product loads, the purchase flow runs, the transaction verifies. However, when I run the same app through TestFlight, I always get the error: ❌ Product not available - mapped to Here’s what I’ve already checked: ✅ The product ID is correct and matches what’s in App Store Connect (case-sensitive). ✅ The IAP is created in App Store Connect and includes: Title Product ID Price Tier Screenshot for review ✅ The App Store "Paid Applications" agreement is active. ✅ The app is using the correct bundle ID. ✅ I'm using Product.products(for: [productID]) from StoreKit 2. ✅ I’ve implemented fallback and retry logic (e.g. reload after delay). ✅ All IAP logic is wrapped in @MainActor and async-safe. As the App got Rejected on Review, the IAP is also now in the Rejected Status. Now the IAP shows status: 🟠 "Developer Action Required" And App Review rejected the IAP with the message: "Your first In‑App Purchase must be submitted together with a new app version." But if I add the App to the Test again and therefore the IAP, then the app will get Rejected again for App Completeness, IAP does not work... What am I doing wrong here? :) Thanks a lot in advance Cheers, Niklas

How do you get user consent for ConsumptionRequest?
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstoreserverapi/send_consumption_information If the customer provided consent, respond by calling this API and sending the consumption data in the ConsumptionRequest to the App Store. If not, respond by calling this API and setting the customerConsented value to false in the ConsumptionRequest; don't send any other information. Since our server would be receiving CONSUMPTION_REQUEST server notifications and will be the one calling the Consumption API, how do we know if the user has provided consent? That info doesn't seem to be in the server notification or anywhere else.
