StoreKit appAccountToken Not Preserved During Apple ID Email Migration
I'm encountering an issue with the App Store Server API where the appAccountToken is not preserved when users migrate their Apple ID email addresses. I've submitted Feedback Assistant ticket FB18709241 but wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this and get community input on best practices. The Issue When a user migrates their Apple ID from one email to another (e.g., from olduser@example.com to newuser@icloud.com), the App Store creates a new subscription transaction with a different originalTransactionId, but the appAccountToken is not carried forward from the original transaction. What I'm Seeing note: these values are fake When querying /inApps/v1/subscriptions/{originalTransactionId} with the either post-migration transaction ID or the pre-migration transaction ID, the API returns both transactions: Pre-migration transaction (status: 2 - inactive): originalTransactionId: "12345678910111" Contains: "appAccountToken": "abc123-def456-ghi789" Post-migration transaction (status: 1 - active): originalTransactionId: "67891011121314" Missing: appAccountToken entirely The Problem The appAccountToken is our only way to link App Store subscriptions to user accounts. Without it on the new transaction: Users lose access to premium features despite having valid subscriptions Server-side renewal notifications can't be matched to user accounts Manual support intervention is required for each affected user Questions for the Community Has anyone else encountered this issue with Apple ID migrations? What's the recommended approach for handling this scenario? Is there an alternative mechanism to maintain the subscription-to-user linkage across migrations? Questions for Apple Engineers Is this the expected behavior, or should the appAccountToken be preserved? Are there any planned improvements to handle this migration scenario? What's the best practice for developers to handle this case? Interestingly, both the old and new transaction IDs return the same JSON response from the App Store Server API, suggesting Apple maintains internal linkage between these transactions, but the appAccountToken isn't carried forward to the active transaction. Any insights or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!! Feedback Assistant: FB18709241

Conversion tracking with the SKAN
Hello all, We developed an iOS app which we started advertising now. In our iOS app we already implemented the updatePostbackConversionValue(_:completionHandler:) to send in-app events in increasing numbers (first open -> 1, lead ->2, conversion -> 3). From our understanding this should be enough for alle ad networks (Apple Ads, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Ads and Reddit Ads) to receive those numbers - at least they receive the app installs from the SKAN already. Is this correct or do we miss something here in the integration? We currently really struggle to assure that everything is working and we do not see any conversions coming in - even though two weeks of advertising have passed already. I look forward for any feedback or discussion and I am also happy to share more details if needed. Best regards, Manuel

Why can't the app get the subscription status occasionally?
Hi, I have developed an app which has two in-app purchase subscriptions. During the test, the app can successfully get the status of the subscriptions. After it's released, I downloaded it from app store and subscribed it with my apple account. I found that in most cases, the app can identify that I have subscribed it and I can use its all functions. But yesterday, when I launched it again, it showed the warning that I haven't subscribed it. I checked my subscription in my account and the subscription status hasn't been changed, that is, I have subscribed it. And after one hour, I launched it again. This time the app identified that I have subscribed it. Why? The following is the code about listening to the subscription status. Is there any wrong about it? HomeView() .onAppear(){ Task { await getSubscriptionStatus() } } func getSubscriptionStatus() async { var storeProducts = [Product]() do { let productIds = ["6740017137","6740017138"] storeProducts = try await Product.products(for: productIds) } catch { print("Failed product request: \(error)") } guard let subscription1 = storeProducts.first?.subscription else { // Not a subscription return } do { let statuses = try await subscription1.status for status in statuses { let info = try checkVerified(status.renewalInfo) switch status.state { case .subscribed: if info.willAutoRenew { purchaseStatus1 = true debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription is active.") } else { purchaseStatus1 = false debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription is expiring.") } case .inBillingRetryPeriod: debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription is in billing retry period.") purchaseStatus1 = false case .inGracePeriod: debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription is in grace period.") purchaseStatus1 = false case .expired: debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription is expired.") purchaseStatus1 = false case .revoked: debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription was revoked.") purchaseStatus1 = false default: fatalError("getSubscriptionStatus WARNING STATE NOT CONSIDERED.") } } } catch { // do nothing } guard let subscription2 = storeProducts.last?.subscription else { // Not a subscription return } do { let statuses = try await subscription2.status for status in statuses { let info = try checkVerified(status.renewalInfo) switch status.state { case .subscribed: if info.willAutoRenew { purchaseStatus2 = true debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription is active.") } else { purchaseStatus2 = false debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription is expiring.") } case .inBillingRetryPeriod: debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription is in billing retry period.") purchaseStatus2 = false case .inGracePeriod: debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription is in grace period.") purchaseStatus2 = false case .expired: debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription is expired.") purchaseStatus2 = false case .revoked: debugPrint("getSubscriptionStatus user subscription was revoked.") purchaseStatus2 = false default: fatalError("getSubscriptionStatus WARNING STATE NOT CONSIDERED.") } } } catch { // do nothing } if purchaseStatus1 == true || purchaseStatus2 == true { purchaseStatus = true } else if purchaseStatus1 == false && purchaseStatus2 == false { purchaseStatus = false } return }

The Apple Pay interface is not responding
My server's access to Apple's payment interface (buy. itunes. apple. com/verifiyReceipt) has been unresponsive since the end of March, and I have been searching for a long time without finding any issues. Normally, even if the data is incorrect, there is still a {"status": 21000} response. We are using Alibaba Cloud's virtual servers here. I don't know if Apple has made any adjustments to the interface. If anyone has encountered this problem, please kindly help to answer it. Thank you all.

Apple ID Password Is Required During In-App Purchase
Hello, I would like to ask about an Apple ID authentication behavior during in-app purchases. Our app uses a StoreKit 1 (SKPaymentQueue-based) implementation, and there are no differences in the in-app purchase logic between the TestFlight build and the App Store production build. However, we have observed that some users are prompted to enter their Apple ID password during in-app purchases. The observed behavior is as follows: On the first in-app purchase, the system prompts for the Apple ID password After the password is entered once, subsequent purchases proceed normally using Face ID (double side-button press) Even after deleting and reinstalling the app, or switching between TestFlight and App Store builds, the password prompt does not reappear if authentication has already occurred This behavior can occur even when the Apple ID already has an active auto-renewable subscription The only confirmed change on our side is: The app is now built with Xcode 26 instead of Xcode 18 Based on this, we are currently considering the following possible causes: A change in purchase authentication behavior due to the Xcode version update Expiration of the Apple ID purchase authentication session after a long period without purchases In addition to these points, we would like to ask: Are there any other common conditions or security policies in iOS or the App Store that may cause the system to require Apple ID password input during in-app purchases? Is this behavior considered expected under certain circumstances? We would appreciate your clarification on whether this is expected system behavior or if there are any implementation aspects we should further review. Thank you for your support.

App Store Server Notifications Update
Hello Apple Support Team, We're a developer team that has created an app with subscription-based features, and we've been using App Store Server Notifications to receive updates about user subscription status changes. I'm reaching out to inquire about potential modifications to the App Store Server Notifications approach that might have improved notification delivery times for my app. So on our appstore app, when a user purchases a subscription, the apple server notifications reach our server and send us the complete detail of that user’s purchase for eg he upgraded or downgraded etc. And then based on the data we receive from app store server notifications, we save it in our database, along with updating the users subscription table in the database. Previously, we experienced delays in receiving the real time notifications from apple on our server, sometimes taking a few minutes, while other times they would arrive immediately. And because of this issue, the users faced delay in seeing their subscription updates, as our db was updated only after the app store server notification reached our server. However, recently, we've noticed a significant improvement, and notifications are now being delivered still in real-time, but without any noticeable delays. I'm wondering if Apple has made any changes to the App Store Server Notifications system that might have resolved the delay issue. Could you please confirm if any modifications were made in 2025, specifically from January onwards, that might have improved notification delivery times? Additionally, I'd like to know if these changes apply to both sandbox testing and production environments. If possible, could you please provide more information about the changes or direct me to a resource that might explain the updates? I'd appreciate your assistance in confirming this information, and I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.

Subscription IAP - SubscriptionStoreView results and errors - more info needed. FB19376771
FB19376771 Transactions monitoring. If I only have subscriptions, do I really need to "bother" with any sort of monitorTransactions() or just rely on subscription status (subscribed, revoked, cancelled ...) ? This is in line with Apple SKDemo and recommendation: // Only handle consumables and non consumables here. Check the subscription status each time // before unlocking a premium subscription feature. switch transaction.productType { ref: [https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/implementing-a-store-in-your-app-using-the-storekit-api) The "Only handle consumables and non consumables here" recommendation by Apple in ref to the process transaction code above is nuanced and confusing if we know what was with other external experts recommendation saying when using only SK2 Views : "This is where most developers trip up in trying to get an experience that App Review is happy" ... continuing : "Be careful: that Purchase View code alone isn’t enough, because one of the possible completion status is .pending: the purchase is in the process of happening but hasn’t completed yet, so you still need to watch the transaction queue manually to be absolutely sure of handling the process completely." Does this holds true for the new SubscriptionStoreView ? We are not sure with quite obscure Apple documentation what SubscriptionStoreView handles, other than purchase (and now subscribe) function, and we do not know what diverse type of error handling messages it can return. Moreover, Apple documents: "Only handle consumables and non consumables here" ? @Apple can you please share more insights on Purchase button on SubscriptionStoreView e.g A) does it close ( finish). the purchase transaction ? B) What error results can it return ? C) What .onInAppPurchaseCompletion can handle as result ?

Is there an API provided by the App Store Server API for canceling subscriptions?
Is there an App Store Server API available that allows cancellation of specific subscriptions by specifying transaction_id or similar identifiers? Background of these questions: We occasionally suspend user accounts due to violations of our service terms and conditions. In such cases, we would like to forcibly cancel their subscriptions if possible. However, we could not find relevant information in the documentation, which is why we are reaching out with these questions. Please let us know.

Screen Rocorder plus Front Camera
I want to build an app for ios using react native. preferably expo. The app will be for recording user experiences with technology. the SLUDGE that they face while navigating through technology. I want to have basic login, signup. The main feature would be to have 2 recording modes. First is record the screen and the front camera simultaneously. Second is to record the back camera and the front camera simultaneously. I can then patch the two outputs later on that is the screen recording and the front camera clip in post processing. I want to know if this is possible as I was told that react native and expo does not have the support yet. if not is there any library or another approach to make this app come alive.

Not receiving App Store Server Notifications for failed transactions
We are currently integrating In-App Purchases for our app and have configured App Store Server Notifications (v2) in the Sandbox environment. During testing, we observed the following issue: When a transaction is cancelled, declined, or pending (e.g., Ask to Buy flows or authorization pending), No App Store Server Notification is sent to our webhook endpoint. We only receive webhook events where the status is "purchased". This becomes a critical problem for us because our backend must accurately track transaction states including failed and pending purchases, especially for wallet top-up use cases. Additionally, we tried mocking failed transactions (via Xcode local environment and turning off In-App Purchases from Developer Settings) to simulate a technical failure scenario. Even in these cases, no webhook notification was received when the purchase failed server-side. Is it expected behavior in Sandbox that only successful transactions ("purchased") trigger webhooks? Are failed or pending transactions suppressed in Sandbox intentionally? Will webhook behavior be different in Production (i.e., will we receive webhook notifications for failures there)? Is there any extra configuration or entitlement needed to fully test failure scenarios via webhooks in Sandbox?

Error setting install attribution pingback
Hi there, We have an app targeted for children and we want to use the SkAdNetwork to track installs for campaigns. We don't want to track further in-app events (purchase etc.), just the install event. We added the SDK to our Unity app, listed the network identifiers in the plist file, configured the external campaign according to their instructions, but struggle to see any events for several weeks now. We see the following logs in the app: Registering install attribution pingback. Failed to migrate Install Attribution database schema from 17001 => 17400. SkAdNetwork: No pingbacks found while attempting to register/update. Error setting install attribution pingback registered for app: 1509727806, error: Error Domain=ASDErrorDomain code=1208 How can we debug this further? What does the error mean? Thank you very much! (I hope I posted in the correct forum topic. Apologies if not)

Problem with siubscriptions in Sandbox
The phone is set up with the developer program to cancel subscriptions from the app we developed. However, after the OS update on the phone, the subscriptions no longer appear in the developer program, although the subscription does exist in the app itself. sandbox account isn't logging in on purchase window
I don't know if I am posting this in the right place. I am using xcode's phone simulator and I have setup my sandbox account on appstoreconnect under users and access/sandbox/test accounts then in my app on the simulator when I tap the subscribe button to purchase my product the a window pops up for in app purchases and I get a login prompt for my sandbox credentials, but no matter how many times I enter them after tapping ok all I get is a blank login prompt. also not this a brand new sandbox account and I've only changed the password 3 times, that seems to be important because its inconsistent with some of the errors I am getting on the error log here is error log. Questions regarding refundPreference sending consumption data
Apple notification description: notificationType: The type that describes the In-App Purchase or external purchase event for which the App Store sends the version 2 notification. App Store Server Notifications 2.0+ string notificationType Possible Values CONSUMPTION_REQUEST A notification type that indicates that the customer initiated a refund request for a consumable In-App Purchase or auto-renewable subscription, and the App Store is requesting that you provide consumption data. For more information, see Send Consumption Information. When the developer receives the refund request notification and sends the refundPreference, they say: GRANT_PRORATED You prefer that the App Store grants a prorated refund. Discussion Use these values in the refundPreference field of a ConsumptionRequest. The following constraints apply to the GRANT_PRORATED option: If the product is a consumable or non-consumable In-App Purchase or a non-renewing subscription, you may include a consumptionPercentage value in the ConsumptionRequest. Question: Requesting a refund for a non-consumable type does not send a notification to the developer. However, when a developer sends a refund preference, they can still send a GRANT_PRORATED request for a non-consumable type.

How to make StoreKit config & App Store Server notifications work together?
Hi, Using StoreKit 2 with App Store Server notifications like so: User selects a purchase App calls Product.purchase() If successful, App Store notifies our backend with the transaction details, importantly with a UUID for the transaction ID. This works fine, but when I try to test contingent pricing via the handy StoreKit config Transaction Manager in Xcode by creating a PurchaseIntent if I then complete the purchase in the app the Transaction ID is sequential, (0 for the first, 1 for the second etc), which doesn't work for us as the backend might already have that ID stored so the purchase never completes. If I disable the config file it works fine, but then I can't use the Transaction Manager debug tool. Is there a way to override the ID of a custom transaction that's created via the StoreKit configuration? Thanks

StoreKit 2 not loading subscription products
Hi everyone, I’m seeing a strange behavior with StoreKit 2 and I’d like to know if anyone else experienced this. My subscription group “ROTA Premium” (Monthly + Annual) is currently Waiting for Review in App Store Connect. What works In Xcode’s StoreKit sandbox, everything loads correctly: Products appear Trial starts Purchases work What doesn’t work In TestFlight and App Review, StoreKit 2 returns zero products, so my paywall shows: “No subscription options found.” There are: No geo restrictions No backend No VPN/IP filtering Paid Apps Agreement is accepted App Review said the device was online, but couldn’t give technical help. My question Has anyone seen StoreKit 2 fail to load subscription products when the subscription group is still in Waiting for Review? Do subscription groups need to be reviewed together with the app version for StoreKit 2 to return them in TestFlight/App Review? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

Regarding the pattern of multiple original transaction IDs being linked
In the app we're distributing, we've identified a user where the Get All Subscription Statuses API returns two original transaction IDs in the data response. This user has gone through cancellations and re-subscriptions since their initial purchase. Meanwhile, despite maintaining a continuous subscription, a notification suddenly arrives on the renewal date with original_transaction_id2. +---------------------------+---------------------------+---------------------+ | original_transaction_id | notification_type | subtype | +---------------------------+---------------------------+---------------------+ | original_transaction_id1 | SUBSCRIBED | INITIAL_BUY | ~ Repeated cancellations and re-subscriptions ~ | original_transaction_id1 | SUBSCRIBED | RESUBSCRIBE | | original_transaction_id2 | SUBSCRIBED | INITIAL_BUY | +---------------------------+---------------------------+---------------------+ Although it can be inferred from the interface definition of the API itself that multiple original transaction IDs may be returned, what causes multiple original transaction IDs to be returned? Furthermore, is it possible to reproduce the case where multiple original transaction IDs are returned in the sandbox environment provided by Apple? As for this app, it: Uses subscriptions through in-app purchases. Does not offer upgrades, downgrades, or crossgrades, having only one product. Has never undergone price increases or decreases. Is distributed exclusively in Japan.
